AI for Science Intern
Beijing, China
Used AI tools to explore protein structures for drug-delivery research.
Reviewed CD98hc-based BBB shuttle patents, identified a 247-amino-acid scFv sequence, and used WeMol workflows including Boltz-2, Chai-1, and Protenix for structure analysis.
Undergraduate Researcher
UIUC · under Prof. Shuming Nie and Prof. Viktor Gruev
Built XR imaging tools for tumor-surgery research.
Built core Unity functionality for Meta Quest 3, supported NIR phantom testing, and set up shared GitHub development infrastructure.
Learned to design for calibration, latency, and surgical constraints — not demo conditions.
Research Intern

Tested a bio-adhesive bandage for intestinal repair.
Designed a two-layer bio-adhesive bandage and ran in vitro adhesion, friction, and acid/base tests.
Made research tangible: materials fail, controls matter, and iteration is the work.
